The new school year has finally begun at Kuchinoshima Elementary Middle School. Today we had our opening and entrance ceremonies for the new school year; the first school year of the new Reiwa era! How exciting! We started off with the opening ceremony. First the principle introduced the new teachers that came to our island this year. Both the new teachers and the students were very excited to be formally introduced. The principle also introduced our new students to everyone. After the introductions, the students received an inspiring speech from the principle, preparing them mentally for the weeks of class to come.
After the opening ceremony, it was time for our newly graduated 6th grader's middle school entrance ceremony. First our principle opened up by giving some words of advice for navigating through school life. And after hearing speeches from the superintendent, and the student body representaive, our entereing student also stepped up to the stage to give us an insight into their thoughts, impressions, and goals for their middle school life.
