Continuing yesterday's weather, the morning brought heavy rains that canceled our morning gardening activities. Luckily the gloomy weather only lasted a few hours, and by the afternoon, it had become a nice, sunny day.
During English class, the middle school students continued their review of the alphabet, and for today's session, they learned the rules for the Hepburn romanization of Japanese words. After some practice, it was game time! Today our two students went head-to-head in a romaji race to see how many Prefectures they were able to spell in a minute and a half! After three solid rounds it is safe to say our students have become romaji masters!
For today's P.E. class, our students practiced their distance throwing skills! The elementary school students had to try to throw a normal sized baseball as far as they could, while the middle school students were to throw a handball as far as they could. After their initial throws, the students split into pairs to practice the correct form. Their practice paid off as many students were able to throw further than they did in the first run. Good job everyone!
